personal business
I used my one week off to actually get some things done. I sent of my taxes, set up the summer party and watched
Batman. But there is more:
I went to Berne for a few days visiting
suzie and
Charley. I got there by train using the current bahn-discounts, but took the plane via Zürich on my way back home. Travelling by train is, for short distances like frankfurt-bern, more relaxing than flying, as you do not need 'special' preparations like being at the airport early, getting through security, checking in bags and getting them back.
Berne itself was also very relaxing! I visited the city and tried out my iBook with various WLANs including the newly set-up ones at
Starbucks, where you can surf for free for 0,5 hours. The Einstein Year also required to pay a visit to the
Historisches Museum Bern which offers a great Special Exhibition on the genius.
I haven't visited more than Berne and surroundings during my previous stays, but this time we went to Montreux to see the last day of the famous
Montreux Jazz Festival. So that was a jazzy evening, which we completed throwing our money into the Montreux Casino's Slot machines :)
Because I like to go to the movies, we also went to see
Mr.&Mrs.Smith, which I enjoyed. Particularly the fact, that the cinema was empty when we entered, finally filling up to seven people watching the movie.
Back home now, I am planning my next holiday and try to get rid of some spyware, which I got after installing some MVR screensaver (too bad).
