secular affairs

I have not commented anything on pope Benedikt XVI., I am more busy with substantial problems. So do not wonder, if the site is gone for some time - the trouble may have impact on my online life. My Dell machine currently has two issues:

• The network seems not to init properly (started some while ago after xp sp2). Sometimes it works, sometimes I need to restart as WINS and DNS are not initialized (4307 NetBT). But I can live with that.
• The ATI RADEON X800 SE (so no high end card) card fan seems to be unbalanced and makes heavy noises - sometimes. The noise will start some seconds after power up and remain till I shut down (which I do immediatly). Up to five restarts later the problem seems to go away (the fan seems to run normally then). I just contacted Dell Customer Support, which was very helpfull when my CD/RW broke by just sending a new one.

I was also busy removing some dog hairs after a visit from Charley and Suzie. Actually Charley is quite cute!

Finally I looked around for birthday presents for my step-father, who turns 50 in three weeks. I think, I found something nice, even though the flight simulator (offered by ProFlight) present could not be realized.
